Canada has provinces working overtime to speed up the process of benefiting from tax revenue from the biggest online gambling market in the world, while the US government leaders in Congress slowly attempted to regulate Internet gambling .

Adjusting to the growing numbers of residents who enjoy online gambling , Quebec and British Columbia have called for the expansion of their lotteries to include remote gambling options. Ontario and several other provinces are considering doing the same.

New Jersey and California have lawmakers from US states that have talked about regulating online poker, in which there has been a couple of proposals offered , but no state has actually took the plunge to become the trendsetter in the nation..

Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz said, “The rest of the world seems to be a couple of steps ahead of the US when it comes to online gambling, if the US waits too long, their customer base may have already found online sites in other countries to do business with.”

Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars are online poker sites who are enjoying the benefits of current US laws. Millions of poker players are on these sites, and the US is receiving none of the revenue generated.

Canada has hired Industry experts to help identify and keep players that have played online poker sites in the past. The Provinces want residents to have a safe place to play , and secure platform big enough to satisfy the poker players.
